I had a science teacher, Del Warkentin, who knew I wasn't the goofy airhead I pretended to be in order to be accepted. He spent a lunch hour explaining to me that being popular was not important; using the gifts that God has given me was...and that conversation changed the course of my life. I was 15. When I asked my fans on Facebook who made a similar impact on their lives, I got some amazing responses…21 year ago, I was living 3000 miles away from my nearest relative and had just left my abusive husband and had three children to care for. I was able to find a job and had an old station wagon that was unreliable at best. One day I broke down on the side of the road and was just sitting there crying when an older woman pulled up and asked if I needed help. I explained my story to her. This
kind woman drove my children to the daycare, me to work and explained that she would pick me up after my shift. When she picked me and the kids up, she took me to an automotive shop where the guy was a friend of hers and dropped us off. I never got her name but my car was fixed and in the back seat were Christmas gifts for me and my children. I will never know this woman's name but from that moment on I have made it a point to do my best in helping others in need. Theresa
I had a physical therapist named Keith who, after my car accident, gave me a reason to go on. He pushed me to get out of my wheelchair and relearn to walk. We talked about what God had for me to do and why I was spared when my father-in-law was taken. He stayed by me every step of the way and I am now
planning to go back to work this fall (I am a police officer) with total use of my legs, and a renewed understanding that everyone is put in this world for a reason and God is not finished with me yet. Shawn
My adopted grandfather helped me realize I was beautiful because of my personality and not because of my looks. He helped me discover that I didn't need a boyfriend because God had a man waiting for me. Not too long after that my husband asked me out and we just got married in March of this year. Hannah
