Today & Tonight, I will be equipped with the hot dogs and watermelon and sparklers and all the fun and food that has become our tradition on Independence Day. Just as I was considering what to make for dessert this year, a friend of mine emailed me a festive idea that satisies the sweet tooth and the presentation. Check out hese patriotic dessert skewers…
Red, White & Blue Skewers
What ou’ll need:
Pound cake (or angel food cake)
Semi-sweet chocolate chips
How to assemble:
Cut p the brownies and cake into bite-sized pieces. Melt the chocolate chips and ip one-half of each marshmallow in it. Set dipped marshmallows aside on lastic or parchment paper to cool and harden. Place each ingredient on a kewer in a pattern such as: blueberries, strawberry, pound cake, marshmallow, strawberry and back to blueberries. Display on a platter for your
guests to admire and eat.
