I knew a couple who was married over 50 years, and every autumn they would drive the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. It was their tradition as a couple, then as a family, then as empty nesters...and they had photos they took every single year. In my house my kids know that autumn has arrived when I start making applesauce, and I cook gallons of it to give to family and friends. The house smells like cinnamon and apples for weeks on end! Check out some of these sweet autumn traditions my fans on Facebook shared with me…
We put up a fall tree. It's a Christmas tree with orange lights and fall decorations on it. We put it up on October 1st and then the day after Thanksgiving we change the decorations to Christmas. Amy
I make my own potpourri on the stove and my apartment smells great. I use 1/2 gallon water in pot, 1/4 cup vanilla, 1 tbsp. cloves and 1 tbsp. of nutmeg with a touch of cinnamon. Now that is some great smelling stuff! Marsha
We have a bridge, an old stone one where we go get a family picture, then we get our pumpkins from the same farm in our area. Love going there and seeing all the animals and the kids running to pick the pumpkins. Jen
We drive into the Colorado Mountains to see the change of colors. We do this every year, this year we went twice! Kristina
I make my pumpkin spice cake with pecans and set out my favorite fall decorations. I especially love decorating the path leading to our front door with pumpkins, mums and a pretty wreath on the door. Patti
I love cooking soups and chili. The slow cooker comes out and becomes a fixture on the counter. Leslie
I make homemade popcorn balls, Grandma’s recipe, for Halloween and the kids all love them! Paula
